Rhode Island Surf Announces New Facility in Greenville, Rhode Island
GREENVILLE, R.I. — Rhode Island Surf Soccer Club is excited to announce the opening of its new Soccer Performance Center in Greenville in November 2026.
Conveniently located just off I-295 near the Apple Valley Mall in Smithfield, the facility will serve as a second base of operations for Rhode Island Surf while the club maintains its presence in central Rhode Island. The new location will also provide a more convenient training option for players and families throughout northern Rhode Island.
The Soccer Performance Center will feature a brand-new 5v5 turf field, a strength and conditioning gym, and a dedicated video analysis and tactical classroom. Together, these spaces will provide Rhode Island Surf players with a comprehensive training environment designed to support their technical, tactical, physical, and personal development.
“Having a facility of our own has always been a top priority for the club,” said Director of Coaching Martin Yarumian. “The ability to provide our players with a professional environment where they can learn on the field, in the gym, and in the classroom will allow us to expand how we develop our athletes.”
Girls Academy Director Brad Furnival added, “Investing in our players and continually improving our programs have always been priorities for Rhode Island Surf. We are constantly looking for ways to raise the standard of what we provide—through our coaching, facilities, training environments, and player-development opportunities. This facility represents another important step forward and will give our players the resources and environment they need to reach their full potential.”
“Since the club’s founding in 2020, our goal has been to pursue excellence in every area—our staff, our teams, our programs, and our facilities,” said General Manager Aleksej Skundric. “The Soccer Performance Center will give our coaches and players additional tools to continue that pursuit. It will also strengthen our presence in northern Rhode Island as we actively work to expand our player pool, enhance our programs, and increase the national competitiveness of our teams.”
Work on the facility is ongoing, with the turf field expected to open for training in November. The strength and conditioning gym and video analysis and tactical classroom are scheduled to be completed and operational in the new year.
We look forward to welcoming our players and families to the Rhode Island Surf Soccer Performance Center this November!
