Additionally, players will spend half of their time working with the soccer ball to improve speed, touch, comfort, and confidence on the ball.  Technical skills/topics/combination exercises will be geared towards player development and adjusted appropriately to meet our youngest players while also challenging our senior players to advanced levels.

Tom Longval

Fall Performance Coach

Tom Longval spent many years working as Head, Assistant, or Grad Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at URI, Siena College, Providence College, UMass Amherst, American International, Springfield College, and College of the Holy Cross, with the goal of developing the team’s strength, speed, agility, power and flexibility. Injury prevention was addressed in all programs as well. At each of these collegiate positions Tom oversaw up to 400 athletes at a time and managed programs for as many as 19 sports.

Tom also has experience working in professional athletic strength and conditioning with the Worcester Ice Cats, Boston Celtics and New York Mets. Since changing career paths, Longval has continued to stay involved in training youth athletes. He worked with the RI Olympic Development Program for many years and has privately trained several individual and groups of athletes, many of whom have gone on to play collegiately as well as professionally.
